Advanced analytical techniques in metal & metalloid research

Metals and metalloids are basic components of environmental samples. Many different analytical techniques currently exist or are under development for metal and metalloid research. Abstracts for the determination of metals and metalloids in environmental samples are requested for this symposium.

This symposium is intended to provide focused sessions on basic and applied research on the determination of metal and metalloids potentially hazardous to both people and the environment. These papers will include basic science as well as applied technologies. Paper abstracts for oral and poster presentations are welcomed.

Specific topics may include:

  • Spectroscopic determination techniques,
  • Chromatographic techniques,
  • Sample digestion techniques,
  • Specific problems dealing with the environmental analysis of arsenic, selenium and transition elements, and
  • The determination of metal/metalloid nanoparticles in the environment.
